Utilize Job Boards
It might seem like finding internships, securing the internship, and enjoying the internship is a full-time job. Yes, in many ways it is – it’s not going to be easy to find your dream internship when you are competing with everyone else looking for the same thing. However, there are some back-up alternatives that will keep you covered while you proactively try to secure the internship of your dreams.
Job boards are like marketplaces for applicants, as well as employers, that shortens the connection process by days, if not, months. These are all out directories whereby you can post your desired position, as well as apply for position that have been posted by companies. Many companies will list their summer internship program availabilities on these boards. With your resume already uploaded, you can simply click “apply” and voila, sit back!
Naturally, there are a lot of job board options out there, so how do you know which one is right for you? We’re going to look at our Honor Society Jobs Board, where we passionately connect talent with opportunity.
Your Honor Society Opportunity
We understand there are thousands of people out there looking to be paired up with the right employer, at the right job. Additionally, considering that employee turnover is at the highest it has even been in the last 10-years right now, employers want to find the right talent that is going to stick around through the ups and the downs.
Our platform simply brings these two parties together for streamlined, productive arrangements. We make it easy for you to log on, and set yourself up for success. Here’s what you can expect on our job board:
Keyword or Job Title: This is in the left hand side of the search bar. Here is where you can search the job title you want (internship), or a specific keyword related to the industry that you want the job to be within.
Location: Also in the search bar is the location, where you can specify where you are willing to work. Once you input this, you can start searching jobs by clicking the yellow Search Jobs button.
Resume Review: Below the search bar is a blue button that says “Upload Resume.” You can set up everything perfectly within the site, so you simply need to apply to jobs once you find them. However, don’t get too complacent with this convenience. Be sure to still check up on your resume and update it appropriately.
Featured Jobs: Right below the search bar, to the left side of the screen, is a Featured Jobs section that shows specialized, available jobs in your region. These are companies that have paid to have their positions highlighted for all to see. Since you are looking for an internship, this probably will not concern you.
Category: Below is a category section that lets you browse by industry, state, or job function, which applies additional filters in helping you find the internship that is right for you.
Our Featured Services
We have a Career Resources portal right on our job board that will help you cover every aspect of applying for an internship. Recent articles include, “How to prepare for your interview,” “7 things job seekers should do put on their resume,” and the list goes on.
We also have resume writing tips, interviewing guides, career advancement tips, navigating the digital world tips, and an expert portal where you can sign up with one of our career coaches.
The Power of Job Boards
Right now, our Honor Society Job Board has 346 registered employers looking for employees and interns. Of those employers, there are a combined 54,867 jobs that they represent and constantly fill. We have 1,559 resumes uploaded to our site, which means your chances are high at landing an interview with these registered participants.
Naturally, internships are less competitive than landing an outright job, which is why you can have your pick right through our website! That’s why I recommend taking time to identify internships that are right for you before you blindly accept one with no background information.
